IWSCFF 2024|International Workshop on Satellite Constellations and Formation Flying

12th International Workshop on Satellite Constellations and Formation Flying
Kaohsiung, December 2-4, 2024

The concept of satellite formation flying (SFF) emerged in the mid-1990s. It involves multiple satellites working together in a coordinated group, like a formation, cluster, or constellation, to achieve the goals of a single, much larger, and more expensive satellite.

IWSCFF 2024 conference is an event convened under the auspices of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), fosters discussions on the evolving landscape of satellite constellations and formation flying. It also facilitates dialogue on the latest advancements in astrodynamics relevant to these areas and proximity operations.

The IAF Astrodynamics Committee initiated a conference entitled the International Workshop on Satellite Constellation and Formation Flying (IWSCFF) in 1997, with the first event held in Toulouse, France. Since that, IWSCFF has been regularly hosted worldwide, such as Haïfa, Israel (2001), Pisa, Italy (2003), Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil (2005), Evpatoria, Ukraine (2008), Taipei, Taiwan (2010), Lisbon, Portugal (2013), Delft, The Netherlands (2015) Boulder, Colorado, USA (2017), Strathclyde, UK (2019), and Milano, Italy (2022). This year, the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) takes pride in organizing this esteemed conference.
